Hello World

Hello, Good afternoon, Happy Tuesday!

Background Information:  This will be my very first post on my very first blog.  To be honest, I've wanted to start a blog for a long time but because I am a little bit of a slacker, hence the title of this blog, it's taken me all year to do so.  

Reason for Blog:  Since beginning my career close to a year and a half ago I have been mildly obsessed with all the speech and language therapy blogs out there.  My current favorite speech blogs are (in no particular order): Speech Room News, Speech Lady Liz, Speech Time Fun, Simply Speech.  These blogs are so pretty and filled with totally ingenious ideas and activities.  Every time I read them I wonder where the authors find the time (and especially the motivation) to create new, fun activities, write their blogs and work their normal jobs.  I don't even really understand what clip art is.  Ok, I know I probably do have the time (I'm single with no kids or pets), but motivation and creativity are in short supply.  I would so much rather watch Real World Portland (this season is surprisingly good!) when I get home than do even more work.

Qualification:  Anyways, what I feel I do have to offer to the world of Speech and Language Pathology is a little bit of humor and somewhat balanced perspective on day to day occurrences in the life of an SLP (e.g. crazy parents, terrible, soul crushing IEPs, what I sometimes do when I should be working). I will also have the help of some super funny friends from Grad School to tell their favorite stories, too.

This is gonna be fun people...
